Thrash: A Living Legacy

Thrash metal. It’s an off-shoot of heavy metal that came to life by bands like Metallica and Megadeth back in the 80s. Of course, Metallica and Megadeth are not the only bands from back then, but there are too many to name considering how it went from being a California thing to a genre that was churned out and celebrated all over the world, but for example there’s East Coast bands like Overkill or German bands like Destruction.

The American Carnage Tour – 8/27/2010

Back in November, I purchased tickets to see the American Carnage treck featuring Slayer, Megadeth, and Testament. The concert was set to take place in January. Then, Tom Araya had to have back surgery, and the American Carnage tour was postponed. Finally, almost nine months later, the day had come and the adrenaline was flowing the minute we stepped foot upon the holy cement in front of the Dodge Theater in downtown Phoenix.

World Gone Dead – Lich King

By first glance, the album art of World Gone Dead is enough to pull you in and when you start to listen to the music, you’re not disappointed. Starting out will a balls-out instrumental (with a scream or so mixed into the fold) “Intro,” it dives right into the assault with the aptly-titled “Act of War,” a song that immediately makes one want to jump into the pit and just start to go fucking mad. When an album immediately makes you want to do that, you know you’re in for a tasty treat of thrashtastic proportions…
