Long Live Random Rock

Monday, July 11th, 2011

I’ve been spending most of my time on this website sticking up some bootleg goodness, and I haven’t been doing the random rock ‘n roll jumble that I created this website to do. How about I change that? Yeah, I think so. This new podcast digs into some of my favorite tracks from some awesome bands. Here’s the playlist:

The Big Four

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

The Big FourThe hoopla surrounding The Big Four show in Indio may have died down already, but for those of us that were there…let’s just say that the hype will never die. It was a historical evening, and to bearing witness to this history was worth the six hour drive, the expensive tickets, the eight hours on our feet, and every other thing that someone could bitch about. I would never, ever bitch about any of it. It was worth it. If anything, I want to share a little bit of insight into it.

So, what better way to do that than a tribute show for The Big Four? You know who they are. Metallica. Slayer. Megadeth. Anthrax. They defined thrash metal in the 1980s. The bands are still around too. All four bands decided to get together for some European shows, one of which was broadcast in theaters all over the world, and just a few days ago they ended up in Indio, California for the very first show together in the United States. I don’t believe that it’s the only show, but it is the first and the only one that I will have the pleasure of seeing.

As such, I have put together a little podcast with my personal favorite three songs from each band’s set, plus a little hidden bonus at the end of the show. Between each song, there’s little tidbits from the concert itself and my own little rants as usual. What can I say? I love thrash metal. I love heavy metal. I love each band from The Big Four. I fucking loved being at the first United States show they all did together. There is no way I could go wrong with this podcast. Go ahead and listen and enjoy because that’s what it’s all about.

Rock ‘N Roll Asylum Celebrates!

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

Hello again my rock ‘n roll maniacs! This week I’m giving you an entire show dedicated to the Joey Belladonna-era Anthrax. Why? Well, unless you’ve been living under a rock when it comes to metal news, Belladonna is back again in the Anthrax fold and I am COMPLETELY. FUCKING. EXCITED.

Move over, John Bush. It’s time for the Madhouse to get back onstage and kick some fucking ass! The Big Four shows finally have the REAL Anthrax involved.

Efilnikufesin.

P.S. John Bush, you’re a great singer, but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…stay in Armored Saint. Thanks.

Let’s do this…

The next installment of the Rock ‘N Roll Asylum is ready for you.

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Welcome once again my rockin’ friends. I’m your host Sara and I’m back with another installment of the Rock ‘N Roll Asylum. For this edition I decided to spice it up a bit more since last time I was mostly in speed/thrash metal mode. I’m still keeping it metal this week, but that might change next week. I have a few ideas, one being a concert…but we’ll see. Headbangers, this one’s for you. TURN IT UP TO 11!

P.S. Don’t forget to leave feedback either on this page through the survey or comments or by emailing me at sara@rocknrollasylum.com.
